For Pebbles,
You came to us on a bitter cold night, hungry and scared. We took you in that night to save your life. At first, not knowing if we would keep you, we knew you needed warmth, food and shelter or you would not survive. After a few minutes of getting to know you, it was clear that someone gave up on you and let you go to make your way alone. As you showed us how loving and courageous you were, we knew we would not give up on you and we committed to giving you a forever home.
You were our loving companion for ten years. You gave us love and joy just by being yourself in our home. You accepted us and the other kitties with patience and courage. It was a joy to see you play “tweet-tweet” and greet us in the mornings and when we came home. Through all the uncertainty and tough times of our lives, you were there offering comfort and appreciation. We will especially miss your unique way of showing affection by doing what we called the “Little Pony.” You would stand on your back legs, while arching your back to meet our hand that reached out to pet you. We will miss your confident voice that spoke to us as you tried to get us to understand what you were saying.
Pebbles, was so hard to let you go. It seems so unfair that you had an incurable illness. For all you gave, you deserved a much longer life. You trusted us and let us know when it was time to say good-bye.
Pebbles, we miss you every day. You live in our hearts until we see you again.
We Love You,
Christine & Don (DWB)
